In October 2012 the R.O.I. turned off Analogue Terrestrial TV Broadcasts and therefore now only have a Digital TV service. The Broadcast Standard chosen by the Irish Authorities is different to the rest of Europe and as such any Standard Definition TV's bought in the UK or else where in Europe will not work in Ireland.
You can watch British and European programmes via satellite whilst in R.O.I. but not RTE.
If you have a normal TV and want to watch Irish Broadcasters such as RTE then you will need to purchase an Irish set top box in Ireland. Thier equivalent to Feeview is called Saorview.
The Fringe Electronics UHF TV Aerial Meter is a high quality easy to use meter designed and manufactured in the UK. It can used with any aerial and is particularly suited for use with the Avtex STH1000/STH2000.

The Fringe Electronics Pro Meter is suitable for aligning both Terrestrial TV Aerials and Satellite TV Dishes. Not only is it dual purpose it has extra sensitivity when aligning an aerial compared to the standard meter. We do not recommend using this meter with the Avtex STH1000/STH2000 Aerials due to the Avtex aerial requiring power, instead use the standard TV meter that allows the Antenna Power to "pass through".
