Aerial Meters
With the older analogue TV Broadcasts it is possible to erect an aerial, do a search on your 12v TV and then adjust the aerial to improve the reception. Due to Digital Freeview Broadcasts being a lot weaker than Analogue, considerably more directional and there being no grey areas, it is a perfect picture or none, we have been searching for an in-line signal strength meter to help you align the aerial on your Caravan, Motorhome, Boat etc.
Until recently most UHF TV Meters available were expensive professional ones. Due to the switch over process now being well under way there are quite a few cheaper meter/finders coming on to the market. The very cheap ones tend to be converted satellite meters imported from China. Our experience is they are insensitive and in our opinion not worth bothering with. We use the British designed and made fringe Electronics ones. The UHF TV Signal Finder is ideal if you frequent average to good reception areas. For weaker signal areas we would recommend the Pro, not only does it have more sensitivity, it also doubles as a Satellite meter as well.
