Description:
The Avtex W193D All-in-one 19” Widescreen 12v LCD TV is the largest TV in the acclaimed Avtex stable. Whilst the front cabinet is the same as its predecessor the W192D 7-in-1 there are several important changes. The first is the inclusion of an RF transmitter allowing the sound from the Avtex W193D to be played through a radio such as the car head units installed in many Caravan’s & Motorhome’s. The most significant change is the inclusion of “MHEG5”. Whilst most people have never heard of MHEG5 a very large proportion will be familiar with the benefits of its inclusion namely Digital Text, Auto-sorting of Digital Freeview Channels and Interactive Services. The previous 7-in-1 model could only receive analogue Teletext and whilst it had an auto-search facility the channels were stored in the order found on that local transmitter. There is also a C I slot for Subscription Channels.
Avtex have also managed another first in the leisure market, this is the only 12 volt HD ready TV. It has two HDMI sockets for connecting HD sources such as HD satellite or a Blueray player.
These improvements can only further the position of Avtex as “the State of the Art” in mobile entertainment systems for Leisure Vehicles.
For those not familiar with the previous model we should recap on the facilities available on this set. It has a 19” Widescreen LCD screen, high quality speakers positioned underneath the screen and incorporates two TV Tuners. A Full Pan-European Analogue tuner and a DVB-T one which is the European Standard for Digital Broadcasts allowing the reception of “Freeview” in the UK and it’s equivalent on the Continent. Both Tuners can be tuned using the AQT (Avtex Quick Tune) one button tuning system ensuring ease of use.
There is a side loading DVD transport that can also play Audio CD’s. If you wish to review your Digital Photographs when you return to site at night there is a Flash Memory Card Reader (SD/MS/MMC) and a USB port to facilitate this and the play back of MP3 music files.
The W193D All-in-one can be used free standing on the adjustable leg or it can be permanently mounted using the VESA mounting points. If you wish to purchase a bracket or your vehicle is pre-fitted with one there are two sets of “VESA” mounting bushes (75mm & 100mm).
For those that don’t have enough built-in to this comprehensive entertainment centre, other equipment such as a satellite receiver can be connected via the scart socket and if you have equipment with a higher quality output there are phono sockets for YPBPR signals and two HDMI sockets. There is also a VGA connector enabling the TV to double up as a high quality PC monitor.
All in all a truly remarkable piece of entertainment equipment that wouldn’t be out of place in any Leisure Vehicle or Home.
PLEASE NOTE:
An important factor to remember is that Caravan’s & Motorhome’s unlike our houses, don’t have a separate room for cooking and therefore steam and grease can deposit on your flat screen TV over a period of time. Most advanced LCD TFT screens are made of or are coated with synthetic material. This material is by definition porous. This is the main reason that virtually all non purpose developed cleaners lead to hairline scratches, discolouring, reduced brightness and eventually permanent damage. If you clean an LCD screen using wipes, it is possible to damage the screen with pressure points from your fingers. We recommend CleanSafe Screen Cleaner to take care of and prolong the life of your flat screen TV. It includes a safe cleaning fluid and a flat applicator pad to avoid pressure points.
