12v LCD TV's / 12 Volt TV / DVD Combi's
12v TV Limited have a range of High Quality 12 volt TFT LCD TV’s with screen sizes to suit most Caravans, Motorhomes, Boats and other mobile vehicles such as Horse Boxes and Trucks. All our 12 volt TV 's can be powered from both 12 volt DC and 230v AC (mains). They have been chosen for their build quality, features and performance. The most popular TV models are from the market leading Avtex range: W153D All-in-One and the W193D All in 1. Both these models are available in a choice of colour, the traditional WHITE cabinet or a HIGH GLOSS BLACK one. The W193D is also HD ready and has two HDMI ports for connecting High Definition sources such HD Satellite or a Blue Ray Disc Player. The 10" Widescreen W102D 7 in 1 continues this year and for those who don't require a built-in DVD player there are the Avtex W102T 10" Widescreen and the Avtex W150T 15" 4:3 screen.
When comparing specialist 12 volt LCD TV’s to a standard domestic LCD TV there are many differences. In particular the low cost 15" sets are invariably P.C. Monitors with TV cards and some of the smaller sets can use reconditioned screens. The disadvantage’s of these sets is lower powered back lights, lower rise (refresh) rates, poorer quality screens and generally poorer build quality as they will have been manufactured to a price as opposed to a specification. This is important for this market as you are likely to subject the TV to a considerable amount of vibration and harshness whilst moving around compared to a purchase specifically for your home where it would usually be in one location and left there. The power of the back light is also important if like us you wish to watch the TV in the summer time, as well as in low ambient light. The quality of the actual screens (viewing angle in particular as most of us sit either side of the 'van looking at the TV from an angle), the electronics and the software all make a difference to the picture quality as well. We choose our range based on these factors and the level of after sales support from suppliers to offer you what we believe to be the best overall value. Our confidence in the Avtex W193D, W153D is such that we use them ourselves in both our Caravan and our House.

The increased popularity of Combination 12 volt TV / DVD's like the Avtex All in One / 7 in 1 models means we no longer offer a stand alone 12 volt DVD player.
Satellite TV for Motorhomes, Caravans and Boats
Satellite Dishes and Digiboxes are becoming very popular in the camping sector due to more people wanting the higher quality afforded by the Digital Broadcasts and of course the increased choice of programming that Satellite TV can provide. We still find however that there are many who still think that you must pay a monthly subscription to watch TV via Satellite whilst away in your Caravan / Motorhome. This is not true, yes some programmes are encrypted and require a subscription to watch them but there is also a wide range of programming availbe FREE. The amount of free programming is continualy growing especially since the BBC and ITV joint "FREESAT" venture was launched last year. You simply purchase a Satellite Dish (Portable or Fitted), a Satellite Digibox / Receiver and connect them to your TV instead of a conventional aerial. You can of course subscribe to SKY TV if you wish and many existing SKY subscribers buy portable satellite dishes to take thier existing SKY Digibox and viewing card with them on holiday.

FREEVIEW for Caravans, Motorhomes and Boats
The Avtex KAH100G is the only 12 volt Freeview adapter we stock and it simply plugs into the scart socket of your Analogue Caravan / Motorhome TV.
The Government have a phased programme running from late 2008 to 2012 for switching off Analogue TV Broadcasts in favour of Digital (Freeview). The first areas to go totally Digital are in the West (Cornwall, Devon, Wales, Cumbria and Border). When a given area has completely switched to digital only broadcasts the signal strength will be increased and one of the biggest advantages of digital broadcasts is that it will give superior picture and sound quality, something we have previously struggled with on campsites and of course increased numbers of channels available. You are like to need a good quality high gain aerial to receive Digital Freeview in your Motorhome/Caravan/Boat. Details of our aerials can be found below. AERIALS
We have searched through many suppliers products to find what we believe to be the ultimate TV Aerial for use in a leisure vehicle in our PU4 pole mounted (not supplied but available seperately) flat grid aerial. This has recently been complimented by the addition of the Avtex STH1000 suction mounted 12v powered antenna.
